Wow, Who Is She? [Private - Christie]

Alexander sighed as he walked towards Honeydukes to grab some new sweets for his stash. It seems that his day was getting gloomier and gloomier when he saw that his older brother, the Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor Nigel Ravenhearst, walk into the Three Broomsticks hand in hand with the School Nurse, Madame Josano. He would never hear the end of this with his friends, since his brother was almost always the topic of their discussion when it came to girls. And, Alex knew, that this new hot topic will be circling around by the time he got back to school. Sometimes, he just hated his brother for being such a ladies man. He was almost always compared to his brother and truthfully, he was sick of it. His friends often comment how unlike his brother he was in terms of relationships with girls, while girls often want to get near him just so they can try and wiggle their way into his brother's heart. 

Shaking his head, he walked into the store to garb some of his supplies. He was getting low and he knew that if he didn't have these sweets, he would probably be having a hard time after his work-out sessions with his brother. Daily, they would run around the lake for a few laps before collapsing into the huge Oak Tree just by the south of the lake. It was at these times that they ate their sweets, to recover enough strength and get back into the Castle.

Christie could not have been happier. She was practically skipping to Honeydukes, planning on giving herself a treat. This was her first year at Hogwarts without one of her three brothers being there. She was always the ‘underdog’ of them, being compared to them and the rest of her family consistently. All three of her brothers had been part of the Quidditch team, and known around the school. Although the war was over, her father still thought that blood status was important. They were one of those types of families. Her whole family had been in Slytherin, no exception to her three brothers, but her? She had been sorted into Gryffindor. She couldn’t help it. The hat sorted her into that house, but her father had sent her a Howler. Apparently she was the ‘family embarrassment’, especially since she hadn’t been sorted into at least Ravenclaw, like her mother. She had always been close to her mother, until she had died when Christie was only seven.


But, this year was her year. There were no big brothers watching her every step and telling their dad whenever a toe was stepped out of line. She had been absolutely tortured by them throughout all her years at Hogwarts, from the simple brotherly teasing to telling their father about the boys she fancied. Christie smiled, feeling a hop in her step and a twinkle in her eye. She entered the sweets shop, immediately heading for the chocolate frogs, as she collected the cards.

Alex groaned as he tried to snatch up the last of the Sugar Quills. It seems that many of the students had found the new array of taste to be quite exhilarating and had started to buy the Quills more than usual, which made Alex one of the long time fans that were frustrated that their favourite treat was now almost always out of stock. He grabbed the last few batches before turning around towards the Chocolate Frogs. At least those treats were not often out of stock. The company that made them knew that they were famous and so they actually produced more stocks.

Swiveling around towards the aisle that housed these treats, he immediately stood stock still and almost tripped on himself. There she was, a girl that seemed to be at his age. The girl had brownish hair and an angular face that seemed to only exemplify her beauty. He watched her every move and was almost hypnotized by her hypnotic sway of hips. Alex shook himself from his reverie before starting to walk towards her and shuffling to find some Chocolate Frogs. It wouldn't do for him to fall head over heels for a girl, especially one so beautiful that she might just want to use him to get near his brother. It was always that ay, girls wanting to use him to try and weed their way into his brother's heart. 

Alex was shaken from his thoughts when his hand touched another when he was reaching for a Chocolate Frog.

Christie was lost in her own thoughts, wondering what she would do with this newfound freedom. She wasn’t one to rebel – although, most of her actions were considered rebellion to her father. She didn’t want to go ‘wild’ or anything. She just wanted space. She wanted to do what she wanted to do, not what her father or brothers approved of her doing. She mused several options, steering clear from Quidditch. She didn’t want them to think she was following in their footsteps. She still had time to decide what she would immerse herself in.

Christie was brought back to reality when she felt something touch her hand, surprised to see that it was someone else’s hand. “Oh. My mistake. I tend to be aggressive when dealing with Chocolate Frogs.” she smiled slightly, looking up to see whose hand this belonged to. She was surprised to see someone so tall, as she wasn’t a short girl, herself. He had one of those dimpled chins that girls raved about. His hair was short, a colour of dirty blonde. He looked absolutely fit, if she may say so – think so – herself. He was very masculine with broad shoulders, and looked brawny. She blushed, quickly looking away and pulling her hand away from his. She hoped that she hadn’t stared at this… demigod of some sort.

Alex smiled lightly before grabbing the Chocolate Frog. He took the girl's hand before opening them and placing the Chocolate Frog into her hand. He was not unprepared in handling girl's, but he just never actually made it known. His brother made sure that he knew what his brother knew, and even go as far as bringing him to a Club and making him watch as he picked up girls. Alex remembered those times and could only thank his brother, it was definitely the better memories.

Unconsciously stroking her hand, he then said, "Here, you take it miss. But, you are going to have to grace me with your name!"

Alex smiled the smile that his brother, Nigel, practiced him on. He never actually used it but now, now he was thanking his brother for teaching him.

Christie looked down at their hands, watching as he placed a Chocolate Frog in hers and stroked her hand. It was so strange to have such intimate contact with a stranger. She surprised herself by not pulling her hand away. She glanced back up at him, trying very hard to keep from blushing. She was very inexperienced with boys. She hadn’t been allowed to date anyone who wasn’t in Slytherin. And, therefore, she had only ‘dated’ two boys, but it had only lasted a month or less.


She couldn’t help but giggle as he said that, answering him softly. “Christie. My name’s Christie Welling.” She said, batting her lashes a few times. She wasn’t trying to be so girly, but she just couldn’t help herself while around him.


Christie felt her heart speed up at his smile, having to make sure that her knees didn’t wobble at it. Can you imagine? Just randomly falling over because of a smile? No way. “And your name, mister?”

Alex smiled before sweeping down in a mock bow before rising and smiling, "My name, my dear miss, is Alexander Ravenhearst."

The Hufflepuff almost smacked himself when he told her his last name. This was it, the girl was going to ask about his brother and then ask him out. After which, the girl would ask to see his brother and the rest is history. Alex sighed but covered it up quickly before shaking his head. No, he shouldn't look at it this way. Maybe, just maybe, this girl was different. If he was lucky, at least the girl wouldn't recognize his last name and he would have a great time before she realizes and asks for his brother. 

Grinning, he then asked, "So, Christie, do you have any plans for today? Or may I escort you around Hogsmeade?

Christie giggled, finding his actions silly but adorable. She brushed a few strands of her hair behind her ear, tucking it. It took her a minute to process the information, but she tilted her head slightly, looking confused. “Alexander Ravenhearst? Like, Professor Ravenhearst?” she asked curiously. Both men were quite attractive, but they did not look similar. The only thing in common was their bodies, but they were still different. The Professor wasn’t as broad or tall as Alex, and he had a softer face. Alex looked more rugged, for lack of a better term.

“I have him for Defense of the Dark Arts, obviously…Is Professor Ravenhearst your father?” she asked, although the Professor looked too young to have a full-grown son. She honestly would not have guessed that they were related.

She smiled and shook her head slightly, “No. No plans.” She answered, giggling at his next question. “Of course, Alexander.” She wasn’t sure if he went by Alex.

Alex actually laughed at her comment about his brother being his father, That was actually the first time that anybody has said that, and he was thoroughly amused. He pulled his hand out in a stopping motion before saying, "No, Nigel is my older brother."

Not even bothering that she had asked about his brother, he immediately took in the sight of her beauty. Her smile seem to only magnify her beauty more in Alex's eyes. He unconsciously took a step forward before grabbing her hand and asking, "Do you want to grab a drink in the Three Broomsticks?"

He had never actually asked a girl out before. Usually girls would ask him out, but after Sixth Year, he realized that most only wanted to get into his brother's pants and so he stopped dating altogether. But now, now it was different. He was going to give it another shot.

Christie blushed as he laughed at her comment, wondering what was so funny by her mistake. It had been an honest mistake. She nodded as he corrected her, telling her that ‘Nigel’ was his older brother. Nigel. It was weird to hear the first name of one of her Professors. It seemed unnatural, really. Although, the word had simply rolled off the tip of his tongue. 

She smiled up at him and nodded, brushing her thumb along the back of Alex’s hand. “I’d love to grab a drink in the Three Broomsticks.”

What? Her answer and reaction had both surprised her. Accepting a date from a stranger? Let alone a… Hufflepuff? She had glanced down at his robes, seeing the yellow and black colours of his tie. She honestly didn’t care, but her father? No, no. She quickly remembered her lack of chaperones this year and smiled up at him.

Nigel smiled at the beauty before picking up some more sweets from the cabinet in front of him using one of his hand, the other being occupied by his new date's hand. He had been elated that she had accepted and now, he was really eager to get started with this impromptu date of his. Honestly, this was the first time he had asked someone out because he wanted too, and here he was, giddy like a kid who just got a lollipop.

Dragging the girl, he quickly made his way to the counter before paying for his and hers as well. He was going to be a gentlemen, although most of his friends would frown and tell him to let the girl pay for the first date. Well, his brother taught him different. He was taught that girl's liked being treated a person, but at the same time, enjoy being showered with praises and being treated like a lady. Nigel knew this and decided that paying for Christie's gift would be fine. And maybe, just maybe, the girl would be the one.

Christie continued to smile up at him, wondering how Alex’s smile could be so gentle with his rugged face. She giggled as he practically dragged her along to the counter, moving quickly. “Under a time limit, Mr. Ravenhearst?” she asked playfully, only teasing him. “If you have other plans or accommodations or dates for today, we could reschedule.”



She couldn’t help but smile as he automatically paid for both of their sweets, being a gentleman. Usually, she was asked to split the cost when on dates, but that was probably because her previous dates had been snobby and smug. “You didn’t have to do that.” she said softly, although she found it sweet. She should have gotten less chocolate, not wanting him to think she was a pig. She was watching her figure.

Alex smiled at the girl's comment about his excitement before finishing paying the sweets. He then asked for the two separate bags before marking one for Christie. He then looked back towards the girl and smiled before answering, "No, Christie. Just very much excited to have a drink with a goddess such as yourself!"

He then slowly caressed her hand before pulling her out of the store. He was going to take her to the Three Broomsticks and get to know this piece of perfection that he just met. He knew he had to be careful and try his best, since this wasn't one of those fangirls who would do anything for him to get a shot with his brother. No, he had to fully try and please this woman, if only to show her a good time and leave a good impression.

Christie couldn’t help but smile at his lines. Typical and corny lines, but, she loved them. Being called a ‘goddess’ was fantastic, but she was able to not blush. “Well, I’m a bit pressed for time. I have a date at six, tonight. We’ll have to drink quickly” she said, before smiling at him. She giggled, unsure if he had caught on to the joke by his expression.



She had no idea where he was taking them, but she didn’t care as long as he kept caressing her hand like that. She doubted this would be a serious relationship, just a quick ‘meet and greet’ of a fellow student, before going on with their ways. Honestly, just look at him! And look at her… it wasn’t possible. Not plausible. “Alexander or Alex? Or Mr. Ravenhearst?”
