It all started with a spell.
A spell from the only Goddess that Zeus himself was afraid of: Nyx, the Goddess of the night. With the help of Hecate she created a slumber and a spell so strong and powerful that it erased the minds of almost every God and Goddess on Mount Olympus. It all started with a demigod who Zeus fathered with a beautiful mortal woman. The demigod was named Alexia and grew up to be very beautiful like her mother, so beautiful in fact that it caught the attention of Hades, the God of the Underworld.
Normally this would not have been a problem and the Lord of the Underworld would have simply taken her, but when the God of the Underworld went to claim Alexia he had found that she had fallen in love with a demigod and offspring of Ares. He was offended and angry that her heart had been stolen (and she was guarded) by a lowly demigod and that she would chose someone like that over a God like himself. It certainly didn't help that it was a child of his long hated brother Zeus.
Hades, being the vengeful God that he is sided up with Nyx, and Hecate who had been long wanting to take over and overthrow the current Gods and Goddesses. Together they designed a spell that would not only erase the minds of the other Gods and Goddesses but would also finally put those lowly souls who always wanted to reign in charge. They made a spell and created a new place in ancient Greece called Olympia, a place where they the darkness could rule. The spell threw the Gods and Goddess out of Olympus and into this new mortal realm, removing their powers and their histories from their minds. The only ones who remember everything are only the Gods and Goddesses who were apart of creating the spell ( Hecate, Nyx, Hades, ) Everyone else thinks they are mortal and thankful to be serving under such a powerful King as Hades. They remember nothing of who they were or what they possess, the spell also created fake "past memories" of who they are now.
So....this is the way the story ends? Well...not quite. The spell has a small glitch. The glitch being that there is one trigger to it all: Zeus' Thunderbolt. The item was stolen and hidden away when the spell was enacted. If found the thunderbolt would slowly unlock the spell giving the memories (and bring their powers) back one by one. The Thunderbolt is key to it all, and if found would cause the two worlds to collide into a war.
So what would the Gods and Goddesses be if they were turned mortal and had no idea who they were? Would Hera still be jealous? Would Zeus still be a cheater? Would Aphrodite still long for Ares while still being married to Hephaestus? When they got their powers back would all hades break loose? ( pun totally intended) Come find out.....
