Natalia Romana Stoyanov
Birthed during the harsh winter months of an arctic January blizzard in the Pirin Mountain range of Bulgaria she came out howling like a starved wolf. She was the newest addition to the Stoyanov legacy, and certainly one who would be sure to make her mark on the world. Her birth, of course, meant the lamentable death of her young Mother, Aleksandra, due to a series of unfortunate circumstances surrounding her home childbirth. Ultimately, it was the loss of blood and the remote location of their cabin to which her untimely departure was laid to blame. Rather than being resented by her family, Natalia was embraced by her brothers and crestfallen Father and welcomed into the family with a love that could only be composed by that of your own kindred: Natalia was born to the Stoyanov's, an age-old line of Dragon Keepers and the illegal art of dragon breeding.
Her childhood was pleasant but unsimilar to most. She wanted for naught and was seldom lonely, having five older brothers to cater to her beck and call. A princess to her father, she quickly became his favorite, as the moon kindles the night. However, due to the remote location of their home, Natalia had very little access to the outside world, which without a doubt included any sort of education. Rather, at the age of three, she was handed an unregistered wand that had belonged to her Mother and was told to 'watch and see what your brothers do'. It was like this that Natalia learned to harness what would become her most useful tool: her magic.
She spent her days working on their modest isolated sanctuary, tending to the dragon eggs and her older siblings wounds. As the years wore on she took up the more dangerous tasks, aiding in the herding of the massive beasts they cared for. Natalia was proven to be proficient in her spell casting, especially hexes, despite her lack of formal education. Occasionally she would go with her father to the nearby village marketplace to sell and buy various goods, but for the most part she was content with their unusual backwoods lifestyle.
Curiosity, however, is a funny thing. It festers and breeds until it becomes ungovernable. At the age of sixteen, Natalia's curiosity piqued, and it was then that she knew it was time to leave home. She left that spring with her eldest brother Todor and sixteen dragon eggs. It was Todor who introduced her to the wonderful world of black-market dragon dealing.
Over the years things changed. They developed complex transportation systems and winding underground rails. At the age of twenty-one Natalia settled down into the bustling hub of the Wizarding World that was London and declared it her home. She forged her visas and wand registry with the help of a few of her more esoteric colleagues. Carefully, she operated under the radar, taking up small jobs here and there to play into the charade. It was easy- too easy. Natalia had been raised amongst the precipice of beasts. For her, this illicit trade proved to be a cake walk.
Natalia is what one could call ‘rough around the edges’. She is lewd, promiscuous, and cagey to boot. She’s a strong, able-bodied woman who hates being told ‘no’ by anyone, including the law. Friendly in most respects, she understands the importance of cordiality without ever giving too much of herself away. Amongst friends she is candid and lively, though rarely lets slip the details of her nebulous trade. Rather, she plays the part of the culturally inept immigrant with the artistry of a true conman.
