Here is the general response to a site wide plot.
Cain Edge:
I think a site-wide plot would be wonderful fun!
Hanna:
FIRSTLY, the new skin is super pretty Sarah. I don't know if you're the one who made it but I definitely am digging it. <3 AND that's coming from someone who does graphics professionally for a living.
Secondly, I am all about a site wide plot. I really enjoy them, especially if it's a plot that can include members in a creative way. I really enjoy the member based plots but I think a site wide plot would be better organized and give those involved a definitive goal rather than having aimless floaty purposeless characters doing mundane things. I think it's especially neat to have a site wide plot and have little member subplots sprout up from it as a result. I especially think this would be good for this site since a few of the members have proven to be significantly active and progressive independently. I think those members would only benefit and thrive from a site-wide plot.
Hope that answer makes sense. Excited to see what crops up in the future.

Hey there,
Love the changes.. And I'm up for a site wide plot.. However that said I don't think it would be overly beneficial for the free spirit of the board. On caution we have had a topic dedicated to the nature of the beast known as a site plot.. Shockingly we found for many people it is a draw back.. People who take key roles in the plot doing a runner act and disappearing, and a lot of new members have a hard time pulling their charries into a site plot being toppers for concerns..
Not sure if that helps though,

So my idea is that we have a plot that involves everyone (something that people can incorporate in their posts) but they do not have to partake if they wish not to. So I have been pouring through all the HP books over the last few weeks, getting a real feel for what JK wanted for this realm. I think a lot of the book's magic was lost in the screen production (but that is a rant for later!). What I love about HP is that the magical world has no idea how to fit in with the muggle world (muggle clothing? what's that?).
I thought our plot could be centred around a dramatic revolution in wizarding policy regarding creatures. In the final book of HP Lupin describes how difficult it is for creatures to be accepted by 'normal' wizards. So, perhaps a vampire or werewolf became the minister for magic and something like that. So, a positive plot that could swing either way -- outrage from purebloods, but positive in regard to advancing wizarding kind.
Anyway -- I don't want this to be our final plot. I think we should all wrestle with it together to find something good and different.
