Break From Work Is More Time With You (Relina)

Matt couldn't help but keep looking at his watch during the last hour before his lunch break. It wasn't rare for him to be able to see Relina during a break, but it was rare that they ever got to be around each other during the full length their respective lunch breaks would allow, usually because either he or Relina ended up having an emergency calling them back into work. Each time though, he usually had the hope of being able to see her through to the maximum amount of time of their breaks. It was just a matter of whether or not there would be some sort of trouble again canning one or the other's break. Sighing, he checked his watch and noted with some relief that it was time for him to head off to lunch. Dressed in formal work attire of a blue suit, dark blue button up shirt, a silver tie, and black dress shoes and belt, he always felt over-dressed for any lunch break whenever he wore work attire. Then again, it at least gave people the sense that he was somewhat official in appearance, except for the target it also put on his back.

Heading out to the main lobby, with only his wand and his wallet among his possessions aside from his clothes, he thought about whether he should use the Floo network, or just apparate, which he was uncertain of at times, but could usually manage to get where he needed to go. Sighing, he opted to just use the Floo network, knowing he'd probably come out by the Leaky Cauldron, though he was supposed to meet Relina in the streets itself. Going in, he spoke clearly, saying "Diagon Alley," as he went through, arriving as he had thought at the Leaky Cauldron. Nodding to the people there, he went out towards the entrance to Diagon Alley, opening the entrance and heading into the Alley itself. Looking around, he didn't yet spot Relina, though he figured that for all he knew, she might have opted to duck into a store just to wait till she could see him, then surprise him. He wouldn't have minded that, he just wasn't sure at all which store she was in if she was in one at all. Shaking his head, he went over to an empty bench and sat down, waiting on Relina to arrive.

“Yes, I get the fact that it is physically impossible for Mr. Hordinwick to indeed be a Garden Gnome.” Her normally bonnie blue eyes glinted with annoyance. She looked at the young man who had been sent to shadow her for the last 7 hours, (more than likely as punishment for some un-known wrong fate felt the need to right) and for those exceedingly long seven hours that Student of healing had done everything and anything that was possible to annoy Relina. Truthfully Relina had done him a huge mis-service in ignoring his constant questioning of her authority and now she was suffering the wrath of that choice.

Relina only had one nerve left, and Grayson Pucey was on it. Outside of being a blatant moronic male chauvinist, he was also had a very dry, abrupt down right out tactless bedside manner. Sadly this meant most of her day so far had consisted of calming those he attempted to treat, and on top of it all he was an elite purest who because his family tree didn’t fork as much as her own he naturally knew more about the magical medicine, particularly that of other purebloods whom currently were convinced that they were part of the gnome species (after their wife had gotten creative with a rather vicious mind altering hex, after catching him plowing something besides the house garden)

He was sniveling at her again this time about her not comprehending how purebloods talk to one another because she was a lesser being. Well that was the straw that broke the proverbial camel’s back. Her ginger colored brows knitted together and she fixed him with an icy glare that at least seemed to stop the flow of waste that was exiting his mouth, at record speed.

“Just so you comprehend. I completely understand that you feel entitled to your opinion.” She offered softly, her voice sweet and seductive sounding with its slight Scottish draw that normally caught Matthew’s fancy.. She watched as Pucey’s chest poof out a bit and his lips pull into a slight satisfied smirk, seeming un-ware that she was about to tear a hole into him.

“That is why I must tell you .. For you to succeed in the area of Healing.. You have to get one slight fact. I had thought I thought this fact was simple; however as I’ve endured your nonsense for most of the day I’m honestly concerned that you won’t be able to wrap your mind around it. SO listen for it is the last time that I tell you this.. Till you reach the status of Head Healer for St. Mungo’s. It really doesn’t matter if you have an opinion or not, and with as grating as your opinion seem to be you should really just come to the understand that YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE ONE.. You are currently in training.. So until I deem it otherwise. Your most important job is to do as I say.. SO if I tell you to wipe a butt.. I fully expect you to not only get to wiping, but get your wand really in there, and just go to town till it sparkles like the jewel on your mother’s wedding ring.”

She tilted her head expected that to suffice as that was all it took for her to comprehend that fact when she was told something similar after question another ward healer when she was in training. She saw the flash of anger in his eyes and watched as his mouth opened, she was quick to put a finger over his mouth. “You’re not to argue because I like everyone else up the ladder of authority don’t really care what you think.. But I un-like them will be quick to put you on festering sore detail not just for me but for all healers including those on the lock ward.. And those specialty cases have been known to fling their feces, when they are agitated.” She watched him visibly ashen as the visual of what she describe flickered into his mind. “ I don’t really care to work with people who need to stroke their ego as much as your types tend to need to.. I prefer to keep you un-poo slathered till the third day.. Which is so far my record for pawning off my trainee off on those of the lock ward.. So let’s address the current agenda.”

Turning to face him she waited for his nod of acceptance as she began to list. “You will make your rounds while I’m at lunch.. You will administer potions, and if that means putting them in a mushroom cap so our resident Garden Gnome will take it willingly instead of attempting to remove your fingers.. YOU WILL GLADLY DO SO.. Because you WILL NOT END UP FINGERLESS WILL YOU PUCEY.. BECAUSE IF YOU END UP FINGERLESS I WILL PERSONALLY HUNT YOU DOWN AND SHOVE YOU IN THE BED NEXT TO THE BLOODLY GNOME… JUST TO WATCH HIM FINISH YOU OFF.” She sighed, and loosened her tight bun and fixing him with a glare.. “I believe we understand one another.. So you have your instructions, and I expect them to be done while I’m at lunch.. If you run into an emergency use ruby cauldron at the center station because it will send parchment to my parchment holder in my pocket. But it better be an emergency.. If I come here and I find you with an overly large hook noosed wizard attached to your finger I will hex you myself..” Content with the look of absolute horror on Pucey’s eye she turned on heel and headed to the robe room to change into her civilian attire, because where Matthew was fine wearing his uniform (and he did look amazing in it) she didn’t fancy her attire or the questions that people harassed her with when she attempted to eat in her healer’s robes.. As nothing could ruin a meal quicker than being forced to look at someone’s infected something or another.

Ten minutes and she was clad inwhat she deemed typical winter attire.. she was quick to dis-apparate in the walking garden that sat adjacent to St. Mungo’s long stretching lobby.

She reappeared next to that same old sweet cart that she had used as her focal point since she started apparating to this location, granted she been as successful that first time where she indeed vomited all over candy apples of his stand, but since then she was successful and allowed to continue.

Matthew was easy for her to pick out, like he always was as with her he always seemed to stand out in one way or another.. To her there was just a certain draw like till her eyes found his she would feel like a very small part of herself was missing.

He sat in a familiar bench scanning the windows of a robes shop that catered to women’s apparel, she felt her lips pull slightly as she envisioned a greeting that would hopefully get a rise out of him.. She silently made her way up behind him, leaning over his shoulder to look in the general direction of where he seemed to be looking, and she smiled and added softly just inches from his ear.
“You fancy something.. Do you now Luv.. Don’t know if it suits your build.. Never picked you out for lace, and silk thigh highs sort of chap.. But if it must be yours.. I’ll humor you, and order them for you straight away, I’ll even let you borrow my heels.. Though I’m not sure if they’ll fit. “

Matt couldn't help but let out a laugh in response to Relina's observation turning his head and leaning back slightly to avoid hitting his head on hers. "No, that's not the sort of thing I'd be wearing and you know it," he replied with a laughing grin. Ever since becoming a wolf animagus, he had taken to laughing and grinning similar to how a wolf would, something that had been amusing to him and his co-workers. He rarely actually laughed or grinned any other way due to how often he spent as a wolf, which was interesting, as the laugh and grin were the only wolfish qualities he seemed to carry over. Well, either way it was something he could shrug off, as right now he was next to Relina, a girl that had stolen his breath and after getting to know her, she had also stolen his heart, which was of no surprise since she was the greatest girl he had ever met. It would take the impossible to get him away from her, and even then he wouldn't budge. His heart was hers, something that took him awhile to get through to her, but she had been worth all the time spent trying to get her attention, to prove that he was what he said he was.

Leaning in and kissing Relina softly, he pulled back a bit in order to speak. "How's work been?" he asked, wondering if her day had been good or if she had been through the ringer already. Work was never easy, and he had definitely eager for his break to begin due to all the paper work he had to do. He only hoped that there was nothing he had to worry about right now when he was off duty for break. He had a few more hours to put in after his break, so anything that would normally interfere with his time spent with Relina should wait until then. It would be better for his sanity in the long run if nothing else. That and it would be better for the health of the individual or individuals who attempted anything foolish while he was within earshot. Well, either way it would be a long, long day for anyone if something bad happened.

Mentally shrugging the depressing thoughts off, he took a moment to glance skyward, wishing it would snow or something. He hadn't checked the weather report to know if it would, as he was much too busy just tracking bad guys and keeping tabs on numerous different people with possible contacts and what not. Being an Auror was busy work, but something he had aspired to be after the childhood he had. His meeting with Relina back in fifth year had changed him a great deal back then, and now here he was working to make sure the time they spent together for the rest of their lives was peaceful and out of any threat of danger. His father and his brother-in-law had both been in agreement with why he wanted to be an Auror, and both backed him in his bid to keep the world safe. If nothing else he'd make the bad guys stop and think before they opted to do something bad. Actually at that point he might just become a target unless or until he sent a few to the hospital of Azkaban before they started their sentence at Azkaban.

He let those thoughts go though as he looked back at Relina, still waiting on her response to his question as he then wondered what all they might do today during their time together.

Hearing his honest answer, she sighed slightly annoyed that her little introduction didn’t achieve even the slightest rise that she was hoping to obtain. Her copper tinted hair shining golden in the shards of sunlight that escaped the over cast of clouds. Her blue eyes flickered to his lips before she kissed his forehead before she made her way around the bench to sit beside him.



Hoping to make his brow arch in shock as it always amused her greatly when she got a rise out of him. “ I don’t know Matty.. I personally think you would look quite fetching.. I bet you have a nice set of stems.” Teasing him she ran a finger teasingly over his top of his thigh.. “ Looking forward to seeing if I’m right about my assumptions in you having a nice legs..”



It was rare that she made a comment about the innocent nature of their relationship, but it was fun to let him see a different side besides the one that he was used to seeing that side that was reclusive, and tended to hold him at arm’s length.



She chuckled softly with a gloved hand pulled her hair over her shoulder and leaned into his warmth attempting to find a comfortable spot, in what seemed to be a very uncomfortable bench. “Is it like ministry law to make public benches so uncomfortable?” She nudged him teasingly letting her back stretch back against the back of the bench arching in just the right way.. ”Is there some department dedicated to testing to see if these are uncomfortable enough that the average sitting time is ten minutes before one or both occupants bums literally shrivel up, and began to grow boils.”



Relina realized that her observations about a make believe department for the ministry was probably not going be distracted from her lack of reply on his question about how her day was going. She figured he knew her well enough to acknowledge an un-willingness to answer as a hint to the sort of day she was having.



Not being able to avoiding the effect his kiss had on her she couldn’t fight the urge to no look in his eyes, which like always was the ending to any deception that dealt with her.” So much for telling tales of how I have the best trainee the wizarding world could provide.” She huffed a golden curl from her glance. “ Honestly I’d be better off with a cross eyed deranged monkey named Tee Tee..”



She frowned looking at him.. “ I’ve got this lovely pureblooded git.. Not pureblooded like you.. Where he is fun and amusing, and intelligent.. Not liking that she sounded like she might be offending his linage, because Matthew was the only boy she knew, whom she loved regardless of where he came from. “Nooo this one’s intellect could rival what I have eating my mushrooms in my garden.. Speaking of can you come over and tend my garden.. I get out there and try to deal with that gnome and he just laughs and throws mud clots at me….. Well I keep telling me their MUD CLOTS.. PRAYING THEIR JUST MUD CLOTS.. okay their not… but I feel less violated when I lie to myself about what he’s thrown at me..”

Her comments about his legs finally succeeding in drawing a blush from him before he gave her an amused glance. "Well I bet you had fun with that observation," he said with a chuckle, though still feeling warm about the ears. Trust Relina to find a way to get him to blush, though that really wasn't a problem since it was Relina. The fact that she willingly made a comment about things to come made him more or less surprised, though he figured he shouldn't have been so surprised. Chances were she was likely to make that sort of comment at some point. He would have probably not said something like that at the very least out in public. He just didn't see how something like that should be public. Then again, chivalry had the tendency to make the men who followed it quite private with things like that.

Hearing her comment about the benches drew another laugh from him. It was true, there were quite a number of very unpleasant benches throughout the wizarding parts of the United Kingdom, and he did figure there was someone who had a say in all of that, though Relina's musing about a department like that with the goal of causing high levels of discomfort was amusing. "Honestly I haven't the foggiest as to which department does have a say in all of this, but at the very least there is someone who should stop and think that maybe these benches are causing more pain than what they're supposed to. At the very least a cushioning charm might help quite a bit," he said with a shake of his head and a sigh. If anything it meant that Relina wouldn't have to worry about the bench induced boils at work. She probably had worse to deal with, just as he had Dark Wizards and Witches to deal with, or track down, whenever he was at work. Chances were though that he might pass something to the appropriate department about these benches. Would save that department a huge line of people eager to complain.

Hearing her first remarks about her current trainee, he gave her a sympathetic look. "That bad, eh?" he observed before she continued on, fighting back an urge to chuckle at her comparison of the trainee to what was wrecking her garden. Hearing her then ask if he wanted to clear out her garden, he smiled. "Sure, why not? Besides, if there's some stupid gnome causing you grief, better he be sent right out of there than adding onto any trouble you have at work each day," he replied, hugging her. Matt didn't like the idea that a Gnome was tossing stuff her way, and he like her hoped that it was just gobs of mud and not something else. If it was something other than mud, the Gnome would find out what happens when you make him mad, as just about any moron who performed dark magic around him often times did, especially when he was off duty. His temper he had gotten from his dad, but the self control was from his years of being in a shell, something that had given him the ability to mask his feelings. After meeting Relina though, there was really no chance of that around her now was there?

Relina delighted in many things about Matthew, it was easy as he was a very likable guy. He was brave when it came to his job, he was openly passionate about keeping people safe. It was rather embarrassing fact about her but Relina often times found herself jealous about the reaction his job ignited in him. As special as she might be to him she just didn’t see that side of him when it came to her or what they had.

She understood that they were very different people, and their upbringing had contributed strongly to the differences in which they presented themselves, he raised by pureblood standards was always a bit guarded in the way he acted. Where she raised by strict standards that she was quick to rebel against, because neglect when it came to affection naturally became an attention seeker when it comes to boys. Her veela side drew them so when Matt in her eyes with-held his affection she felt jilted, and undesirable, which at times would make her resort to such indignities as seeking out compliments, with such comments as the one she had just issued.

Sadly Relina didn’t have a clue how to address those concerns she felt embarrassed thinking that there was something deeply wired wrong with her that she thought about him the way she did, that she didn’t have class or restraint because she was obvious and open, where he was closed off publically where much of their meetings were.

Ohh your just being childish! Your only upset; your little attempt at wit didn’t get your hand held.. Like you envisioned. Your so enslaved to romance you silly little nit.. NO he is not Raul with his demanding glance, and needy desire, and you’re not some damsel with a bodice ready to be ripped.. Merlin you have to stop investing so much in them bloody smut filled page turners, or come wedding night you’ll scare the poor boy. Now stop wanting to go to the corner and weep like a kicked dog, honestly how will he deal with such nonsense when he is bound to it?

Arching brow she resist another urge to grab his hand, and allowed as a consultation to allow her crossed knee to move slightly so that her foot touched his. She smiled as he said he would come deal with her slight nuisance problem. “ Oh cast him out will you.. Honestly if you dress it in a set of healer’s apprentice robes we could set it loose on Pucey, and it would give him a slight taste of what I’ve been put threw.”

Looking about the various stores fronts her nose wrinkled and she shrugged her blond hair back over her shoulder.. “ Shall we hunt down something to eat.. I might want to get something in my stomach before I march over there, and pick me up some silky thigh highs.. Who knows perhaps they serve as a striking behavior modification for my little garden guest..” She tapped his foot teasingly un-able to refrain herself from touching him in some shape of form. Standing up she dusted off her skirt and pulled from her bag a small silver disk that looked similar to a make-up compact opening it her slim fingers combing her hand threw black looking smoke like dust she pulled and it formed a suede sleek black ladies gloves. Sliding her fingers inside her gloves savoring that the relief from the chill, Relina glanced down over her shoulder at him and smirked a sly minx like smile, and offered her elbow.

Matt laughed at her comment about sticking the gnome into an apprentice healer's robes and sending the gnome to her current trainee. It was definitely funny, but there was something that struck him, something that wasn't so funny. Something seemed off about Relina, something wrong, and yet Matt couldn't tell what it was due to the fact that Relina was a skilled Occlumens and he didn't know Legilimency anyways. She was a closed book and he wouldn't have been able to read her well enough anyways. The thing was though that he still got this sense that something was off, and he didn't like that at all, especially if it was something he could fix. Then again, he knew he couldn't fix everything, but he would certainly try. Thinking for a brief second, he thought of something that might at least get her to be cheerful rather than Relina hiding something with an assumed forced cheerfulness. If nothing else she'd probably appreciate what he said and it would help her to shrug off the foolish intern at her work. He would've said it too had she not mentioned food, then going into the shop they had bantered about moments before, causing him to chuckle a bit.

"That would be... an interesting choice of clothing. Though really, it's not like you actually need to start wearing something like that to get my attention," he said, his expression going from amused to soft as he looked at her, hoping to show if not say how he felt about her. While food would be a distraction in most cases, the fact that Relina seemed to be hiding something was more than enough reason for him to focus on her rather than something else. Standing up, he linked his arm through hers, smiling at her as he did so. He did let his mind start to wander though, his thoughts going towards his dad and how life was like growing up after his mum was killed. His dad had been hard to live with, mostly because he was pretty much never around. That had caused some serious conflicts between himself and his dad, and that had yet to be fully sorted out between the two. If anything Matt did not want a life like what his dad had lived. For Matt, that life happening to him would mean that he had lost Relina, and that just wasn't an option for him. Meeting her had pulled him completely out of the shell he had been in to that point, and he didn't want that again.

Letting his mind go back to the thought of food due to his rumbling stomach, Matt let out a brief sigh. Maybe a bigger breakfast would've helped some, but that would have just meant he got hungry about an hour later. That thought was relatively annoying, but it was enough to grab his attention for the time being. "Guess we might as well find something. Any longer and my stomach might get a bit too obnoxious," he said with an annoyed sigh and a rueful expression. He didn't like the idea of an obnoxious stomach. It was just too embarrassing, especially out in public. Matt hated the idea of embarrassing himself or anyone he might be around, especially Relina. Well, here's hoping his stomach didn't get too loud, and if nothing else he could just use a quieting charm on his stomach, unless it opted to get so quiet that he wouldn't be able to know if he was hungry. Okay, too many issues with that idea, better for him to just eat soon.

The sad thing about her little ability was that even if she could keep people from controlling her mind. It didn’t give her any added powers in knowing the thoughts of others. Which in times like now where she was pulling herself apart at the doubt she felt when she looked in his glance and something she misinterpret his silence, or a wry smile.

Truthfully her so called talent was not anything that she considered a talent. To Relina it was simply evidence of the stubborn nature that she already was well aware of.. She remembered her, and Matthew having that conversation about what he considered a gift, and her response to his suggestion that she should be thankful for her little gift occlumency ..

Matthew I swear you are ever more the eternal optimist. You’re the only person I know that could celebrate a closed mind. Trust me this closed mind has gotten me more trouble than it was ever worth..


To Relina it was simple fact, this gift was nothing more than a shield. Sadly her shield only kept people out of her mind. It sure wasn't helpful at the moment. In times like this when she would have given her right arm to get a slight insight into what was going on in his mind, when he told her thing like she didn't need fancy stockings to get his attention.

Does that mean he doesn’t want to see me in stockings..


With just a simple comment he was able to put a small crack in that toilsome ego of hers, that ego that had her believing that she was desirable to practically all men. That ego of hers that would have had her seeking attention the moment something had threaten it in a manner which Matthew had just poked it. Thankfully rational thought was quick to stop that rather pathetic decline with slight adjustment that instead of jumping on assumption that he no longer fancied her, it might have been that he was simply embarrassed..

“Oh merlin did you cross that pesky line of respectability?


Where she did like to tease him to gain his attention; or those rare occasions that she lived for like those precious glimpses of when he failed at perfection, when Matthew simply forgot to put propriety ahead of all things, when he was just a man, and prone to temptation just as she was.

In spite of enjoying luring him, she always regretted her actions when she over stepped. The last thing she wanted was to end up being only a source for his embarrassment. She often times would think that she was just teasing in good humor and then something was said that made her regret saying anything... This was such a time.. She opted to sneak another peek at his face to gauge his reaction to find nothing suggesting much of anything offensive had irked him.
That didn't stop her from worrying though as those voices of self-doubt crept up and took a strangle hold on her reminding her of every social flaw she had.

You embarrassed him.. Remember he isn't like you he is private.. It probably sounded lewd to him, great you show him your trashy side before he can get the ring on the finger way to go Relina...


As if her conscience had a wicked sense of timing her mind pulled a voice from the past that used to punish her constantly for taking things to far she was about to apologize when she heard a strange noise.

Grumble..Grumble..Gurgle..Gurgle.. Once she heard it, and knew that she wasn’t the only one hankering for a something to eat. Matthew was fiercely devoted to his job, which didn’t surprise her in the least bit as that was simply just him. She had never knew a Matthew who didn’t throw himself headfirst, during their small time at school together it was his studies that showcased the driven nature of Matthew. It was honestly in large part to that driven nature is what got her threw her the intense healer assessments.

That driven nature of his, she didn’t doubt would make him a wonderful keeper of the peace for the ministry. Relina was honestly a bit shocked when Matthew decided on the career of being an Auror she had admired his choice at first, but realization of the danger he put himself in was a sobering reality she often thought about, and with the grumble of his stomach she wondered if his work was more busy than he had let on..

Soft smile broke with concern, “ Not much time for eating on your end either. Huh? You know that will stop the moment you put a ring on my finger. I’ll won’t stand for the your co-workers thinking I don’t feed you.. You’ll be waddling like an ol hen by a yearend just by pies alone, Mr. I’m tooooo busy and important to eat.“ Giving him a soft teasing squeeze on his arm she smiled thankful that her tummy hadn’t given him cause to lecture her.

Matt wasn't really a fan of being kept out, in the sense that he liked being able to know how a person was feeling and try to help. Relina's Occlumency was a great shield against those who had no business prying into her mind and her life, but what about those who cared about her and viceversa? How could he help if he was blocked out from even knowing if something was wrong? It was just the idea that he may not know if there was something wrong with her that bugged him. Then again, she had been quite stubborn even before she had gained Occlumency, and that was something that he had battled against for a long, long time, and was not something he was eager to continue against. But how was he to get through to her that he wanted to be able to help her any time she was upset, angry, or hurting? It took him years to show her how he felt about her and that he wasn't just some kid. Would it take just as long to get through to her that he really didn't want her to hide her problems?

The stocking thing had been a bit embarrassing. It definitely wasn't a case that he didn't want her to dress that way, in private anyways. It was just a matter of the fact that he wasn't a fan of discussing that sort of thing in public. His problem was that he just was never sure how his words went over with Relina due to her closed off seeming nature. It was frustrating, but he didn't want to express that for fear of making Relina upset. Matt's chivalry was definitely a bit of a problem causer, but why was it that he felt like it was better to stay so chivalrous? Probably because he knew that his dad would be disappointed if that chivalry ever actually failed. That was a sobering thought in this, as his dad, despite all of his struggles as a father, had always maintained that a woman was to be treated right, something his dad hadn't failed at while his mum was alive. Heck, his twin sister had married his best friend, and that was only because his friend had proven his mettle as a guy who will treat a woman right. Chivalry was just an inescapable part of who he was.

His growling stomach was a lot louder than it should have been. That was super embarrassing as it had alerted Relina to how hungry he was. It took seconds for his face to reflect just how embarrassed he was about his stomach's loud begging for him to feed it. Work had been long, and that was just not fun at all. He would have done himself better to have given himself more time to eat a bigger breakfast, at which point he would be perfectly fine through this point of the day. It wasn't going to get him away from what she had mentioned about her cooking though, which successfully brought a smile out of him, something Relina never really failed to succeed at anyways. Him just seeing her was enough to make him smile, which on its own should've given her some hint if nothing else that he loved being around her. At any rate, he knew he shouldn't leave her comment on his hunger go unmentioned lest she start thinking him rude or just too embarrassed to reply. Silence just wasn't really his thing anymore anyways, as he had left that behind when he had met her.

"Well that sounds like a good idea. If nothing else my stomach won't ever be able to say how hungry it is ever again at that point," he replied with a laugh, kissing her on the cheek. He hoped that his response there might just soften her enough for him to see if there was something wrong, but he could never tell if she was wearing a mask or if she was being sincere. The kiss if nothing else might just get her to reveal something, if anything. A flicker of disappointment in her eyes, or a brief change of expression would tell him volumes, and that was the goal here. He had done all he could to study ways to draw reactions out of others that would tell him all he needed to know. It was something he had taught himself back in Hogwarts, as he figured it might be necessary once he became an Auror. He was driven to that job at first because of revenge against the still roaming wizard who had killed his mum and had originally kidnapped his sister, but that had faded as he gained the motivation of protecting Relina as best as he could.

How will we ever work out, long term wise? You will drive him nuts with your lack of modesty. That dreadful critical voice in the back of her mind spoke filling her mind with thoughts of doubt. Sadly that vicious little voice from the back of her mind had been speaking more, and louder. Till the point came when she had enough of that negative nelly voice that just seemed to be as grating as a toilsome yappy type dog.

“Ack. Enough” She said flatly. She had been walking arm in arm with Matthew till she drew to a standstill letting loose of his arm, her fingers sliding from his elbow down to his fingers till she let go of him and she skipped a few steps to whip in front of him.

Her piercing blue eyes wide, and as always with him inquisitive. “Do I embarrass you? “ She voiced bluntly not really knowing the question she had just issued was as loaded and dangerous as a ticking time bomb. Sadly in her mind she wanted reassurance, and the best way she knew to silence that vicious negative inner voice of hers was to confront that irrational fear head on.
However the way she went about doing it went a lot better in her mind, in her mind it seemed like a rational question something any woman would ask of a man after stating something that could be construed as off color. However reality was she was standing in front of Matthew who seemed well if possible more awkwardly embarrassed now than he seemed moments ago when only the stalking comment was littering his mind.

“Oh God.. I DO…” She whispered with a voice twisted with agony. “You have to be slightly embarrassed, YOU HAVE TO BE because god I just mortified myself with just hearing myself.” She gave an opens sigh and took three steps back from him. “ Well I might be embarrassing.. SIR but you are literally torturing me… In case you can’t tell..I look forward to lunch and then just gahhh blow it.. Completely because my inner edit button is faulty.” Pinching the bridge of her nose in an attempt to relieve some of the stress she felt flooding her temples.

“ Gosh I know I embarrass you with the things I say. I don’t have the same upbringing as you.. HELL till McGonagall pulled me aside and gave me a firm talking too, I thought towels were an optional thing in the showers. I had no problem with running nude in public places because well it was never taught that it was considered in poor taste. Hell till I was 4 years of age I was bathed in a sink in a kitchen. KITCHEN. YES KITCHEN MATTHEW. In front of a line of at least 6 more kids that were going to be bathed the same way. I don’t have your couth. I can’t even fake it… and sense I’ve said yes…I’ve pulled myself inside out, because of this overwhelming fear that I’m going to do something so dreadfully embarrassing it will snap you out of whatever thing made you ask me to marry you.. I’m terrified you’re going to come to your senses. “

Sadly that is how Relina worked, she would bury thing till they reached a point where she couldn’t any long and then she would just simply rip apart at the seams releasing horrid embarrassing facts and details as she did so. “ Well on that note.. In an attempt to salvage what dignity that hasn’t run for the hills in that little explosion of honesty I’m going to let you lead and pick out where to eat, and here you thought your rumbly tummy was horrifying.. I’d trade loud grumbly tummy for my explosive mouth any day..“

"Relina-" he had began as he tried to answer her question. He was stopped short by her tirade afterwards. He wasn't sure when exactly he'd even be able to get a word in edgewise. Listening to the first part of her tirade with a patient expression on his face, he hoped that when she stopped, hopefully after a couple of minutes of her speech, that he'd be able to speak. She needed to be stopped before her mind went so rampant as to prevent her from considering actual, rational trains of thought. If nothing else he was fearful that she'd scare herself off and as a result there wouldn't be a wedding, something they haven't even discussed a date for yet. That was probably the only thing he was fearful of at the moment, and he didn't want to be fearful of that at all. Then again, Relina wasn't giving him much reason to be anything but worried that he wouldn't end up marrying her at the moment. Hopefully this outburst was just a rare, and incredibly unlikely thing to occur, as otherwise things might be a bit stressful. Then again, his chivalry hadn't been a good thing today so it seemed. Why else would Relina be going off on a tirade? It certainly wasn't because he was being as crazy as she thought she was being.

Seeing her pinch her nose, he attempted again to speak, hoping to cut off her speech. "Relina-" he said, only to be halted again by her resuming her speech. She carried on for quite a bit longer this time, counting up all the stuff about her childhood and how she was afraid he was going to come to his senses and end up running for the hills. That was humorous, though he made no show of that as he was afraid of her reaction to that. No, he had a better response for that, and yet he required a chance to actually speak in order to get that response out. Well, patience was better in the long run than interrupting and getting nowhere fast. Then again, how in Merlin's name could he figure out when she was going to be done talking? It was definitely frustrating, though he made no visible sign that he was frustrated either. That was going to cause other problems that he didn't want to deal with. Well, that was just something he was going to do his best to avoid. Otherwise it would be nigh on impossible to get that ironed out.

When she finally came to the end of her speech, he looked at her with a confused expression on his face before finally speaking. "Relina, let me start by saying that me coming to my senses was when I asked you to marry me. Second, you don't embarrass me, even though my chivalrous nature seems to say otherwise. I don't get embarrassed easily, I just prefer certain things to be talked about at certain times or in certain places. The leggings comments for example, well maybe I was a bit too tight-lipped on all of that, so that was probably my fault and for that I'm sorry. But let me say that you do not embarrass me no matter what you think at the moment. So yeah, now that all that is off my chest, let's see if we can find something to eat before we both end up feeling awkward or something, yeah?" he replied, walking towards her and kissing her softly before smiling at her. He hoped he had gotten her reassured some, though his last line was almost abrasive, which he instantly regretted. Well, he wouldn't know for sure unless Relina made an indication that he was being abrasive there. Matt wasn't fully free of the stumbles his shell was leaving behind, so that was probably something to work out soon.

She was in the midst of explaining how she felt that that parsnip crepes located at the street vender on the corner rivaled that of the Broken Cauldron on Burberry Street in France. In the middle of telling the details of how she felt that they were light in just the right way when she was stopped by his sudden and in her opinion random explanation a gloved hand jumped to her collar bone as she took a step back and let him have the floor that he seemed to feel he needed..

Blinking several times as he erupted in a Matthew worthy eruption of controlled emotion she could see in his glance that he was concerned or perhaps slightly annoyed which no doubt would be a continually look for her in her presence, thankfully the slight squinting and the frown lines only seemed to make him more attractive..

DAMN HIM… Can’t even allow for a prat look that looks weasel like.. How the hell am I to hold a grudge with that? Muchless even attempt to argue with looks like that.. One glare and I’d be looking to pull him into the bedroom.. HELL.. Stinking man..

She was in the process of semi hearing him, and telling herself that thinking about bedroom activities while he was attempting to give her a firm talking too was not only disturbing but possibly tacky. Stop thinking about kissing him.. HELL STOP LOOKING AT HIS LIPS MERLIN you’re an incorrigible twit honestly drooling after him because he has went all surly, then again it’s not your fault he was made so handsome and those lips are sooooo…. HELL what was he talking about again?

Giving him a slightly confused look she nodded slightly before remembering he was not happy with her attempt at wit involving the thigh highs. “ You are aware of the fact it is me. Right Matthew that ‘WAS restrained for me.. “ She snorted.. “ I’ve always been an open sort when it comes to physical things” Her eyes widen as she realized that she was a natural when it came to healing because manipulating magic and bodies where second nature to her.. She was at home with touch, feel sight of the physic of people… It was their emotions, and mental standings that she struggled with. Normally it was personal fears associated with mental things that made her uncomfortable. When forced with something heinous site that came into the Mungo’s it was never the sight or action that she shy away from knowing, no it was always the why she shy away from. Wondering if she could explain this to Matt she pondered out loud realizing she was letting him in with her musing.

“Honestly I’m bloody lucky you don’t get subjected to half the deviant things that circle my weedy lil toilsome little mind. I’m lucky I only got a shot of the Veela D.N.A, I swear to merlin much more of it I would more than likely die in some horrid way involving spontaneous combustion and flammable knickers, the hell you put me through with you just being you.. Bloody alluring, handsome you with the lips.. “ She sighed.. “ohhh those wicked lips.. Their enough to___________”


She looked at him her cheeks blazing crimson as she adverted her glance before softly swearing.. “ Wow I really just did say all that out loud.. YOUR FAULT THOUGH… “ She shrugged it off knowing that he was more than likely embarrassed enough for the both of them. “ Well lets get your killer lips something to snack on.. And with any luck we can find a large enough crepe where I can hopefully shut up long enough to preserve some sort of dignity.. Come on sexy.. Let’s get us some Chow..” She chuckled slightly shaking her head her fingers reaching for his as the embarrassment she felt ebbed way.

“Perhaps we can discuss the aspect of civil ministry matrimonial union.. From what I’ve heard they no longer make you do the flush of matrimony.. There is no portkey that dumps you out in the ladies loo on the second floor of …….. “ Wondering if that was bound to get her in more trouble and more narrows green eyed looks from Matthew, unable to stop herself she risked a slight peek.. “ UMMMMM well from what I hear it’s more respectable than it was ten years ago when Mildred Covy married her fourth husband.. Okay I know she is just the woman who sells the wine from little cart, but she has been married 8 times.. So she is practically a professional wedding planner.. “
